Is Recticare Cream The Cause For Hemorrhoid?

Hi I have a small size lump by my anus opening. I have had it for a couple of months. It doesn`t hurt or itch. I called my doctor and he gave me a precription for some Hydrocortisone Suppositories, 25mg to insert in my rectum twice a day, i have a small hemroid. It hasn`t done anygood yet. I have been using these for five days now. About acouple of months ago, I bought a tube of Rectal-care, a fairly new product, and by mistake, I did insert some of the cream inside my rectal opening. could this have caused this lump to have formed. The directions had warned not to insert inside me. Wii this slowly go away or should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Recticare is an ointment that is used to treat hemorrhoids. It helps to relieve pain, itching, burning associated with anorectal disorders.

No, it is not due to Recticare cream. Since the swelling has grown, take a sitz bath for relief, get examined by your treating doctor.

Use suppository containing hydrocortisone. Use OTC hemorrhoids cream. Take Ibuprofen or tylenol for pain.

Your treating doctor may suggest surgery if it does not get well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
