Is Rabies Vaccination Advisable Upon Being Bitten By A Dog?

Sir yesterday a dog tried to bite my finger and his teeth hit my thumb. No blood came out thought but I could see a small mark which I am probably not sure. Is it necessary to take the injection as I am scare of the reverse action of the injection. I am afraid if I take the injection without dog bite then it might effect and have reverse action.

Hi,

You should take the Rabies vaccination as soon as possible. If it is possible the dog should be detected and maintained under control for observation for 10 days for any disease symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
