Is Progesterone Safe To Be Taken During Conception?

Hi madam, I am trying to get pregnant. Today is my 16 th day and in scanning the follicle was ruptured. My doctor gave progesterone capsules (strone 200). What is the use of this medicine. Earlier I used same tablet for getting periods as I have irregular periods. Please give me answer

Hi,

I understand your concern. Yes progesterone is completely safe during conception. Your follicle has been ruptured suggest that ovulation has been occur. And if you have sex during time period of ovulation then fertilization will occur.

Now progesterone make uterine environment favorable for implantation and support the pregnancy. So continue to take progesterone pill under advise of gynecologist. Progesterone also use for irregular period that cause by luteal phase abnormality, hormonal imbalance and also to delayed period and induced period. So it has multiple use. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water, maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
