My wifehad hip pain so the doc put here on opana.After some tests,they fused her SI joint.She says she still has hip pain.the doc disagrees.She`s been on both types of Opana for years now.The SI fusion was months ago.Do you think she may be addicted to the meds?

HI, Thanks for asking. I would answer your question to my best & help you to solve your problem. Yes, Opana is an opioid drug a morphine derivative & so is habit forming. * When cause of the hip pain is spinal causing nerve compression.. nerve supplying is pinched.. causing sciatica like signs. That's why the spinal fusion must have done, The long standing symptoms of pain cause some changes in hip.. which need to be corrected by physiotherapy & will go slowly. You should therefore, start physiotherapy under expert guidance & side by side slowly tapper off the dose of Opana .. that too under expert guidance. Thanks...
