Is NP Thyroid A Good Alternative Of Armour Thyroid?
I have been using Armour for 4 years and Dr Decreased dose to 60 mg a using a different pharmacy and he gave me a generic called NP JYROID 60 mg . I thought there was no generic for Armour thyroid what is the different one site side it has liothyroine 3 hrs equal to 65 mg this doesn t read like the same as Armour and my Dr I believe did not order a generic and is Sat so can t check with her before using for will split my 180 mg in half til can call her. MY question are they really the same
NP Thyroid is desiccated (dried) thyroid preparation, which is a combination of hormones that are normally produced by the thyroid gland. Armour Thyroid (thyroid tablets) is a natural preparation derived from porcine thyroid glands. Both are natural products made from animal thyroid glands used to treat hypothyroidism. Both have more or less the same adverse effects and functional effects. Kindly take the medication as prescribed by your doctor and do the necessary follow-up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
