Is Morphine Advisable For A Cardiac Patient With Chronic Back Pain?

hi, I have chroinc pain due from back and knee surgery, I ve been on percocets for over a year and I m due for a knee replacement. Am at a point where having knee surgery now would be a bit too much for my wife to handle. Would changing to morphine 15mg take the edge of pain away for 3-6 months until my wife is over a year from heart surgery?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Morphine is an opoid compound and a narcotic analgesic.
Since it exhibits certain known side effects on the heart, it is better avoided.
Intake of such medications is not advisable without consulting Physician. Only after proper clinical assessment, such medications need to be taken.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
