Is Modus Advisable To Postpone Periods In Women With PCOD And Irregular Periods?
Hi.. Im getting married on aug 20th.. I ve got my period on july 20th ie nw.. My doc has prescribed modus 10 to postpone my due.. She s asked me to take one tablet in d night for 15 days ie from aug 5 to aug 20.. I ve slight pcod n i ve irregular periods.. My question is how reliable is modus n will i get my periods even if im on medication
As per my clinical experience, the Modus contains medroxyprogesterone acetate as hormone content for hormone regulation at the HPO axis. The definite role of Medroxyprogesterone acetate is proven for birth control, menstruation irregularities and others. You have to remember that after completion of all doses, you will be getting menses within 4-5 working days.
As your marriage is on Aug 20th, I would not suggest to stop the medicine on 20th august; otherwise you will be facing unusual consequences during your golden honeymoon period with your hubby. You must continue the medications till you want to postpone the menstrual cycle.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
