Is Micardis Withdrawal Advisable In An Elderly Person?

I am 83 years old,,120 lbs, I am taking Micardis 80 for some time,,I have some blur i n left eye and ear noises.Buzzing and music. I think med is too strong for me..What happens if I stop.My bp is running very good,,,,I have cut pills in half ,I asked doc if I have to take med,,she said We want to keep you around awhile .Do you think 80 is too strong for me ?

80mg is the minimum effective dose for this medication. It does not mean that it is stronger than the 5mg minimum dose of another medication.

Different medications come in different strengths according to their metabolism, effectiveness, mechanism of action etc.
There is another medication, in the same family of micardis, whose minimum strength is 160 mg.

The 160 mg of that medication is equilvalent to 80 mg of the micardis.

Micardis is not usually associated with the ear noises and visual disturbance that you are describing though everyone reacts differently to medication.
Hearing loss can be associated with tinnitis (abnormal noises).
