I have my 37 year old daughter seeing pain med doctor in florida for five months she is chronic pain for many health reasons and now doctor said next visit she wants her to go on methadone we are both scared of it she is given one exalgo 12 mgs a day and 3 roxycodone not enough for her many ailments doctor sounds like wont up prescription but we are afraid of methodone
She is 37 years old and is having chronic pain. She has been given Exalgo or Hydromorphon 12 mg, Roxycodone for pain. Both these drugs are opioid drugs and good analgesics. But she didn't get pain relief. Now she has been advised to take Methadone. Methadone is also an opioid drug and is good pain medicine. The drug patches are also available for chronic pain conditions. If she has been advised to take drug and have prescription of the drug she should go for it. The drug will control her pain. If available the go for methadone patches because this will reduce the risk of abuse of the drug. The drug has high abuse potential and should be taken as per prescription only.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
