Is Metformin Used In The Treatment Of Tuberculosis?

We have a reentry home for men coming out of prison and I have a pharmacy degree just haven t practiced in years. Trying to reeducate myself. He is taking a string of antibiotics for TB latent I believe. Why metformin i don t see it in the formulary for treating TB.

Metformin is the first-line medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is not the drug which is used to treat tuberculosis. There is a set of antibiotics used to treat tuberculosis termed as 'Anti-tubercular drugs', which needs to be used for a specified period of time as per the regimen, which needs to be strictly followed.
