I AM ON 2 PRESCRIPTIONS DRUGS; ATIVAN FOR INSOMNIA AND GABAPENTIN FOR RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME. I AM UNABLE TO LIE DOWN TO SLEEP DUE TO NASAL CONGESTION. OTHERWISE IM FINE. I AM DOING NASAL SALINE RINSES BUT DOESNT HELP ME AT BEDTIME. I USE CPAP MASK. ARENT YOU GLAD YOU ASKED? ANYWAY WILL IT BE TOO RISKY TO TAKE A LORATADINe. Generally I dont use antihistamines because they can set off my resless legs but I need to sleep. What do you think? Thx
Loratadine drug must be used cautiously in patients who have chronic kidney disease. While a stage 2 disease is not concerning with respect to loratadine use, it must be done under supervision with appropriate dosage adjustments.
In my opinion, you should try using nasal sprays containing Oxymetazoline drug to clear your nose. One spray in each nostril before your sleep will do wonders. Do try it out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
