Is Lesuride OD Intake Safe For Treatment Of GERD?

hi, I have been diagnosed with GERD and my doctor has prescribed me lesuride OD 75 mg tablets. I googles and found that this medicine is used to treat mental ailments and has potential side effects like loss of libidi as well...I am concerned now...shoudl I be taking this medicine? or should i get a second opinion?

Lesuride i.e. levosulpiride and this is a drug of choice for Gastro-esophageal reflux disease ( GERD) IBS and dyspepsia.
However in few cases of anxiety it is also advised.
If it taken for very long time is very high doses may changes libido .
But if you think that GERD is bothering you , you should take this drug as benefits are more than minor side effect.
Still , if you have any doubt about your medicine , consult your physician and get his opinion .

However some times GERD also responded to avoidance of spicy , greasy , chocolates, pizza, burgers, sweets , alcohols , tension ,anxiety.
Also avoid eating or drinking for 2-3 hours before you lie .
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks .
In few cases , these measures also help.
