Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Isosorbide Mononitrate 60 Mg Advisable For Erectile Dysfunction
Will isorbide mononitrate 60 mg ER tabs help erectile disfunction instead of Viagra as it says you should not take them together. I had a mild heart attack a while back and I am taking this med once a day. If it doesnt help ed can it be stopped a day and a 50 mg Viagra tab taken instead that day only
Isosorbide mononitrate is indicated for use in chest pain and other cardiovascular conditions. The drug may not have any effect on erectile dysfunction. As you have mentioned you should strictly avoid taking viagra while on Isosorbide mononitrate since the combination can cause severe hypotension.
I would suggest you to consult with your doctor to suggest any topical or local application of drugs which may be beneficial for your conditon. Only after ruling out any contra indications, the drug can be used.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
