Is GGT Level Of 85 With All Other Tests Being Normal A Cause For Concern?
I am writing on behalf of my 39 year old son. He is 5 9 about 160 pounds, vegetarian, non-smoker, very light drinker. His GGT level came back at 85. All other blood work was well within levels. I was in India two weeks before the test and was quite sick with intestinal issues. Could this be the reason.
I appreciate your concern for the raised GGT levels of your son. After having gone through the problem I am of the opinion that the GGT level is high suggestive of liver damage.
Following life style modifications are found to be useful for the raised GGT level:
He must: Avoid alcohol & certain drugs like Acetaminophen as these are proven to damage the liver Avoid eating fatty meals, fast and junk foods Eat a healthy balanced diet rich in proteins and fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Take Vitamin E containing supplements Do daily brisk walking exercise for 40 minutes a day to keep fit.
Hope the suggestions given above could be of great help in reducing the level of raised GGT. Rate this answer, if you are convinced.
