Hi I have factor 5 lieden and for many years I have been prescribed a clexane injection before I fly which was advised by the heamotologist after Getting a blood clot in my lung . Today i tryed to order my injection from the doctor as usual only to be told the health authority will not allow them to prescribe it any more! So they have given me Fragmin instead which is half the strength dose which the specialist advised and involves a lot more injections. I was also told that it was not covered by the NHS and had to pay £34.00 privately. In the pharmacy I could see clexane on the shelf so it s obviously available to some . I m confused , can you put my mind to rest that Fragmin is as effective ?. Thankyou Sally
