Is Effexor XR The Right Medicine For Major Depression?

I am diagnosed as having Major Depression, (recurrent episode?) Severe and other related issues with PTSD. I am currently on effexor xr 225mg per day, since January 18, 2017. I believe it can be increased to 300mg. I will be talking to my PCP this next week. I am in another episode now. My question is there a stronger medication should I needed that won t mess with my thought processes?

All the drugs that work on central nervous system are bound to have an effect on your thought process. Your doctor would recommend a different drug if he feels the need to do so. Remember he/she is prescribing you the medicines after considering all the benefits you will have with least side effects. Stay strong and positive. thank you.
