Is Ecotrin The Cause For Blood In Urine?

I have been taking Plavax along with a Ecotrin since I had stent surgery in Feb I have notice that I have had blood in my urine today This was subscribed by my doctor in Washington State but since then we have moved to another state and I do not have a family doctor as of yet. Should I get off of the Ecotrin until I can see a new health provider

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, if you are not grossly bleeding leading to hemoglobin levels getting low, your heart condition is more serious and stent thrombosis risk persists if you stop blood thinners. Don't stop at your own but consult cardiologist before doing that and a urologist review alongwith urinalysis and ultrasound KUB to work up for the cause of swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
