Is Duphaston Safe While Planning For Pregnancy?

if I am planning to have a baby, is it safe to take duphaston ? i ve already missed my period and it s the first time it happened. ive tried a pregnanct test and resulted in negative. my ob gyne said that I should take duphaston. after taking it ive seen spotting already. is it safe to take even if I consider myself as pregnant.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
- Duphaston is a hormonal preparation which favors conception as well as supports the pregnancy to be steady & helps baby to grow too.
So Duphaston is given in patients who are willing to conceive as well as it is also given to help pregnancy to be steady.
- The spotting you see may be an implantation bleeding.
- Probably the pregnancy test you have done was too early. Urine pregnancy test can be done after 8 days delay in menses.& pregnancy needs to be confirmed by pregnancy test. So repeat it at a perfect time.
- Of course, you have to continue Duphaston when doctor advises it & you think to be pregnant, It is not only safe but also is a supportive medicine for pregnancy.
-Take it as per your doctor's advise if pregnancy is diagnosed / Till pregnancy is excluded by -ve test.
