Is Diflucan The Right Medicine For Yeast Infection?

Hi, I went to the gyno with burning and itching. She didn t see anything, but sent the swab to lab, which came back as yeast infection. She prescribed Diflucan (two pills, three days apart). I took the first and most of the symptoms were gone by day two. After taking the second dose today, I have burning again-no itch, just burning and a little discomfort when I wipe. Is this normal?

Hi,

Diflucan is the right medicine for yeast infection. For burning sensation, you can apply miconazole cream on the affected areas twice daily for 2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
