Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with pcod recently. However, I get about 9 to 10 periods a year . my free testosterone, E2 and progesterone levels are also within the normal limits. I have a healthy weight and no acne (but very oily skin). I have moderate hirsutism that I am satisfactorily managing with cosmetic procedures. My doc prescribed Diane 35 but I am skeptical given the side effects. I also wonder if I actually need it ( enough cycles and normal androgen levels).
Take Diane-35 tablets only if you have irregular menstrual cycle. Otherwise it's not required. Polycystic ovarian syndrome can be managed by maintaining adequate BMI. Try to lose weight if you are over-weight and avoid consuming sugary & junk food.
