Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Cipro A Safe Medicine For The Treatment Of A Bacterial Infection?
Hello... I have a bacteria that I was given Bactrim for... but the doctor called today and said from the culture the Bactrim would not fix it.... then gave me another rx of cipro. When you look it up it sounds terrible. I am only suppose to take it for 7 days.
Incomplete data like age, gender, the problem for which antibiotics are prescribed, etcetera. Based on the report of culture and sensitivity, the bacteria responsible for causing infection is sensitive to Ciprofloxacin but not to Bactrim.
Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is commonly used to treat different types of susceptible bacterial infections such as UTI, typhoid fever, respiratory tract infection, etcetera. Take it as prescribed by your treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
