Is Carbamazepine A Time Release Medication For Seizures?

I have seziures and had brain surgery about 20 yrs ago. since then I have taken carbamazepine er , 2 200 MG CAP in the AM and 3 cap in the PM. today when I picked up my prescription , I was given tablets and the drug carbamazepine xr, was told they no longer make carbamazepine er. is this true and if so is it still a time released medicine. I have been seizure free for almost 20 yrs and do not want to change any thing

The Carbamazepine sustained release formulation is widely manufactured and available worldwide. The common trade name is Tegretol XR manufactured by Zydus, Cadila company and that is in strength of 100, 200 and 400 mg.
