Is Bystolic Tablet The Right Medicine To Reduce Heart Palpitations?

Is Bystolic the best medicine to reduce heart palpitations. I do not have high blood pressure. Tests have shown I have a healthy heart. I take 5 mg in the am and 5 mg in th pm. I stil have moderate palpitations and many of the listed side effects. I have spoken with my cardiologist and he advises me to continue as he prescribes. Any advice?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Bystolic contains 'nebivolol', which belongs to a group of drugs called beta-blockers. It is primarily used to treat high blood pressure. What your Cardiologist has advised is right and you need to continue taking it as advised.
The reasons why you could be getting palpitations could be due to anxiety or emotional disturbances.
Hence, kindly do meditation, which would help to control your emotions and keep your mind healthy.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
