Is Azimax 200 Safe For Persistent Cough And Ear Pain In A Child?

Hi, my daughter, 3.5 year old, has been having wet cough since 3 days. She has been vomiting phlegm now and then also. I just moved to the UAE from India a few weeks back. we don t have insurance yet. My daughter started to run a temperature since yesterday night. So I have been giving her adol (paracetamol) every six hours. Now she complains of ear pain also. I have azimax 200 dry syrup with me (which my paed in India prescribed when my daughter had persistent cough). I didn t give it to her that time. It s still unopened. Just wondering if I can give it now. If I can give azimax, can I give paracetamol along with it? Thanks in advance

Hi.

Azimax is safe for persistent cough and ear pain in a child.

Azimax-200 (azithromycin) is an antibiotic used in the treatment of infections caused by a variety of susceptible bacteria such as respiratory tract infections.

Based on the history your daughter seems to be suffering from upper respiratory tract infection for which Azimax-200 may be given once daily safely along with Paracetamol syrup every 6-8 hours.

Hope I have answered your query.
