Is Asthalin Inhaler Advisable For An Infant Suffering From Cold?
My son is 8 months old and is having cough and could from last 10 days. Doctor has prescribed asthaline syrup 2.5mg thrice for week and duoline nebulizer 2.5 twice a day for 2 days. Today we went to see doctor again and we informed him that my son has cough, after checking he said chest is filled with cough and he prescribed to take asthalin inhaler 2 puff twice a day for 6 days. Is it safe to give asthalin inhaler. We are tense. Pankaj
Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant infant suffering from cold which is a sign of respiratory tract infection along with poor immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give your child short course of antibiotics such as Amoxicillin or azithromycin for 5-7 days along with Antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine. You should use room humidifier and vapor rub that will give benefits to your child. Steam inhalation is very effective but you have to be very careful while giving it to your child. Yes you can give asthalin inhaler to your child. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Get paranasal sinus x-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis.
