Is Amoxicillin The Right Medicine For Upper Respiratory Infection?

I just went to the doctor Tuesday after being sick 9 days and OTC meds did nothing. By the time I got there they thought I was the walking dead. She found my case pretty hard. She said I think you may have a bacterial upper respiratory infection. She gave me some amoxicillian. Well now its helping the head part but now my chest is killing me and I can t even lay down in the bed. Is it the sickness getting worse? Or the antibiotic not helping?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
Amoxicillin can be used if the respiratory infection is due to bacteria. I would prefer Co amoxiclav.
Thanks
