Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thank you, My wife took Claritin 24 hr. this morning at six, She wants to take a benadryl allergy after she gets out of the shower. She is too congested to sleep and is exhausted. I also wonder about Advil to reduce inflammation.
I would suggest you to consult an ENT physician and get her evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray of sinuses if sinusitis is ruled out can be done for confirmation..
As of now to relieve congestion, she can use saline nasal irrigations.. She can do steam inhalation and use a humidifier in her room.. She can use decongestant nasal spray containing Xykometazoline or Oxymetazoline.. Do warm compresses around nostrils..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
