Irregular Periods, Breast Are Bigger And Tender, tired. Had Unprotected Sex. Pregnant?
Hi. I am 20years old. The problem is I had my periods twice this month. I've always had normal periods and this is worrying me. The first period on the 10th was normal and lasted for 4days. On the 28th I had another period but lasted for roughly 2/3days. It was a light flow and the blood was dark red the first day and then become light red. The cramps weren't that bad. I had unprotected sex after the 1st period. Now my belly button is painful, I'm always tired and my breast are bigger but not tender. What could be the problem because I don't think I'm pregnant?? I haven't taken a pregnancy test because its to early to tell and my periods are 30days apart. Should I be worried??
Hi, There are two possibilities. It could either be a mid-cycle bleeding corresponding to the ovulatory phase, or a hormonal imbalance resulting in a breakthrough bleed. Urine pregnancy test performed at this stage cannot yield any result as it is too early. If you need an earlier and better confirmation, you can get serum beta-hCG levels estimated. This is conclusive. You can also get a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram to see if there is any pelvic cause for the spotting. Maintenance of a healthy weight, avoidance of stress also help a lot to regulate cycles. Hope this helps.
