Some times recurrent boils will occur in children and they are necessarily suggestive of an underlying health or immunodeficiency problem.
The boils are due to bacterial infections by a streptococcus and some varieties of staphylococcus.
Nothing to worry.
Maintain hygiene of the child by hand wash and daily baths.
Whenever he gets boils local application of antibacterial cream like mupirocin is sufficient in small lesions and an oral antibiotic is required in more extensive lesions.
Go for basic evaluation with CBP,ESR, to look for any abnormality after discussing with your Pediatrician.
Some less common forms of Immuno-deficiency manifest like this.
Juvenile diabetes is to be excluded...
Laboratory tests like Immuno-electrophoresis may help
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
