In August of last year I tore my medial meniscus on November 20, 2017 I had surgery to repair it then I had a second surgery April 20, 2018 . I’ve had two steroid shots I’ve had a steroid and Jell-O shot try and lubricate the knee with that now I feel like mike me is a very tight like a rubber band around it I’m still doing physical therapy my knee continues to click and pop which is very painful so today I went to the orthopedic and they gave me the physician assistant who I’ve had since my second surgery and she doesn’t know what to do so advice was to give me a script to get blood work it’s my knee . I told her about my family physician and everything is fine she’s putting on the script CBC fiber myalgia lime disease I’ve been tested for this already as part of my physical I’m complaining of my knee not anything else can you please give some advice on what I should do next it’s been over a year I’m getting tired I’m frustrated and I feel like I’m not getting any better at this point

i tore my meniscus when i was in the eighth grade going into my freshman year. I tore my medial meniscus and had surgery on it. I am now fully released and my knees were feeling better, I am a competitive cheerleader and after a state competition my sophomore year my knees hurt, both of them. I went to the doctor had an MRI and they said it was runners knee. I went to therapy for four months and things got better. My right knee is pretty great but my left knee KILLS ME! I cannot straighten it all the way, squatting lunging and running hurts. I get the occasional sharp pain while running. The pain is off and on and sometimes there is no pain for like a week and then pain is continuous for 3 to 4 days so it makes me unsure of the severity or the cause of my pain! help?

I had MRI on knee and it came back with lateral meniscus tears and medial meniscus tears. Also signs of mild to moderate irregular degenerative thinning of the patellofemoral hyaline cartilage is present. Osteoarthritis degeneration of both menisci -lateral and medial. Prior to MRI I had swelling, not able to straighten knee and not able to walk without a cane or limping. Swelling has minimized over a relative short period (1-2 days). More movement but still very painful and hard to sleep. Doctor advised that surgery would possibly increase rate of arthritis and that best course would be cortisone shots. I am 50 years old and very active, enjoying exercise workouts. Would surgery not be the answer to clean up the tears and the meniscal tearing? does the cortisone shots not soften or weaken the cartilage?
