Immediate Bleeding After Sex Followed By Cramps. Periods Due. Did I Start Early Or Ripped Deep?

This morning my boyfriend and I had sex and it wasn't abnormally rough or anything just our normal thing but immediately after I started bleeding and it's been about a period like amount.. It's not gushing but it's also coming out steadily and noticeable. I thought maybe it is a laceration but I've been experiencing cramps the past few hours. My period was due in four to five days, do you believe I started early or I have ripped deep and need to go to the emergency room for stitches? Please help, thank you!

Hello,

Period date may be earlier or late up to 7 days from due date. Associated cramp is mostly suggestive of early period if there is no pain or irritation inside vagina.

Least possible cause is blunt trauma or laceration as you have mentioned that sex was not rough. However, it will heal automatically within 1-2 days and no treatment is required generally.
