I Went Through Menopause In 2008. I Actually Didn't Realize

I went through menopause in 2008. I actually didn't realize it because I had no hot flashes and whatnot.
6 months ago I lost 30 lbs. in 2 months. Then I started having horrible hot flashes. I went to a gynecologist specializing in menopause last week. She knew instantly the problem with the hot flashes: the fast weight loss. Your fat cells release estrogen back into your system (and I did find research to confirm that). I had my hormones tested yesterday by my endocrinologist and sure enough: it shows I'm going through menopause again. To help with the hot flashes, I'm being put on a hormone and progesterone. My question: how do you go through menopause twice? I mean, really?

I have all my female parts intact and have never had any female issues. I'm 55. Thank you! ~Cindy
