I was experiencing hot flashes and insomnia and I had a very heavy menstruation and I was prescribed prometrium as well as estrogen. My menstruation stopped as well as the hot flashes and I was finally getting a good night's sleep. After being on prometrium and estrogen for about a year I started having hot flashes again and insomnia so I decided to go off them. I an now experiencing severe headaches and hot flashes and I get a total of about 3- r hrs sleep. Is this due to me stopping the medication? I really don't want yo start taking the medication again as I am scared of the long term side effects.
