I have acute pancreatitis, I was diagnosed and had surgery 18 years ago with many attacks after. I now am having more severe attacks and have lost 20 pounds. The doctors that I am seeing are saying I must get a referral somewhere and in the meanwhile, I could die? What should I do?

Hi, My son is 8 and he was recently diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Pancreas was normal in ultrasound and MRCP. His lipase levels increased to 3 times the normal range. His pain subsides on IV fluids for a day. He has been on TPN for the past week. No pain and could tolerate liquids. He tried simple solids for a day and tolerated. The next morning he had 2 slices of gluten free toast with no butter and got backache 30 min after he ate. He has been hospitalized twice in the last 2 weeks for the same episode. His pain is triggering with food even after resting his stomach for a week. The GI specialist couldn t find any source other than an elevated igG4 of 197. He is being treated with 40mg of Prednisone for the past 3 days. Yet, he still had 2 flares of backache today that lasted for 30-45 min. This was even without eating food. Any ideas, insights would be helpful. He is a healthy child with no prior medical conditions.

this question is about my Daughter ... she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis about 9 days ago, doctor set up an mri of her tummy, said everything was ok but her urine is now orange/yellow . Should she just sit home and wait for her next apt with her pc or should she go to the er ? I m worried that the pancreatitis will cause organ tissue damage if it goes on too long ,
