I have acute pancreatitis, I was diagnosed and had surgery 18 years ago with many attacks after. I now am having more severe attacks and have lost 20 pounds. The doctors that I am seeing are saying I must get a referral somewhere and in the meanwhile, I could die? What should I do?

this question is about my Daughter ... she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis about 9 days ago, doctor set up an mri of her tummy, said everything was ok but her urine is now orange/yellow . Should she just sit home and wait for her next apt with her pc or should she go to the er ? I m worried that the pancreatitis will cause organ tissue damage if it goes on too long ,

My husband was recently hospitalized with acute pancreatitis (April), and, as a result, was diagnosed as diabetic. One doctor commented that he has calcium deposits (?) that would indicate chronic pancreatitis. He is taking insulin shots and was somewhat better for a couple of months, but has been experiencing significant pain, especially in his back. I am thinking that it may be chronic pancreatitis as opposed to a side-effect of diabetes. What pain medications are available to managed the pain for chronic pancreatitis (he has adverse reactions to morphine or morphine based drugs)? Also, what can been done to achieve a better quality of life with this condition?
