I Have Some Visible Epiglottis Sticking Up At The Back Of My Throat. Can Online Doctor Help Me?

Hi, I am a 20yr old female and recently I ve been having trouble with my epiglottis. About 2 weeks ago I looked down my throat with a torch because a could feel something in the back of my throat when I swallowed. When I looked down there I could see my epiglottis sticking up at the back of my throat (im 100% certain its my epiglottis) Sometimes during the day it goes down and I can t feel it but other times, normally in the evenings I can really feel it and it s really uncomfortable when I swallow. I m getting really worried about it and just wondered if any one else has this or knows what is and will it ever go away?

This is a normal. The epiglottis is visible in many normal people. If you want to investigate your discomfort further, get a video laryngoscopy done to check the throat and larynx. A Barium Swallow Study may also be done. Get your hemoglobin levels checked. If these are normal, only medication may be required to relieve your discomfort.
