I have incontinence very bad due to camages nerves feom a bad back surgery that failed, as a result I am prone for frequent UTI/ About 2 years. dur to family doctor not listening to me, I went on vacation for a week, the day I came back I went into septic bood diagnosis and my kidneys shut down, was hospitalized for around 10 days, and had several doctors treating me . finally, with a mixture of several drugs combined, I began to improve. At this time, I have been treated with a sulfer(?) drug prescribed by my family dr. 1 every 12 hrs for 3 days, 2 separate treatments around a week apart. I still have a UTI. and I believe I have probably had this for at least 4-6 weeks. Due to other medical problems, I am under a hospice program call covenant-care. They collected the latest specimen with the lastest positive diagnosis. They prescribed this drug, but knew about the diagnosis on Mon, this week, and was informed today and told they had prescribed the drug SULFAMETHOXAZOLE-tmp ds t. What bacteria does this drug treat and is it effective?
