I have developed a sun-burn like rash on my upper torso and neck. It is exacerbated by sweating and I live in a semi-tropical climate and it is starting to be quite warm and humid as the summer season approaches. At the same time, I have developed a persistent cough that seems to be more severe in the early morning after I get out of bed. I have tried many remedies for both the rash and cough. The rash treatments I have tried include hydro-cortisone, neosporin, aloe-vera, and prescription strength .05% Desonide Lotion. None of these remedies provide any real relief. The only thing I can do that seems to help somewhat is to wash with cold water periodically. My primary care physician has not been able to help and I have requested a referral to a dermatologist. Remedies I have tried include cough suppressants, medicated cough drops, allergy medication, and daytime acetaminophen. The cough suppressant works for a short while and if I don't take the allergy medication (Allegra), the cough seems worse. Any ideas?
