Is Zetia Effective In The Treatment Of Elevated Cholesterol Levels?

I have been on statins for years but have severe muscular pain with them. My new cardiologist has now prescribed Zetia which I was on years ago. I have been a vegetarian for 25 years and do not eat much in the way of animal products. Few eggs , drink cashew milk do not butter breads, look at labels. My LDL is currently 134 . Do you think Zetia can help me. Without med my cholesterol is consistently 249.I do eat a lot of carbs and some cheese but not an inordinate amount.
