I have asthma and been on allergy injections for 30 years- my asthma was severe as a child but controlled for years. Lately I have an ominous feeling and need to be treated for sinus and just cough and SOB with cold and bronchial symptoms. My allergist was treating me with prednisone20mg BID for sometimes 10 days to rid me of the bronchitis/asthma but my new internist seems to think this is too much I'm a nurse and know my system. I'm on Advair 500/50 and have been for 9 years. Should I return to my allergist even when he is no longer on my insurance? I'm feeling like I need more treatment than I.m getting.
