I have a history of Asthma and Emphysema. A couple

I have a history of Asthma and Emphysema. A couple days ago I noticed some pain in the upper left rib area especially when I coughed or took a deep breath. I have had a history of aspirating if I eat to close to bed time, but I don't think that's it. I was also in a situation where I could have slightly hurt a rib. However last night I woke up freezing cold and nothing I did would warm me up. I had piles of blankets on me and a heating pad held against my chest and it really hurt to take a deep breath, yet I didn't have a fever ( but my thermometer is very old and not reliable. does it sound like pneumonia? I have antibiotic for just such a problem, but I'm not positive it's Pneumonia. Should I start the antibiotic to be safe? I'm 59 years old by the way

I ve been diagnosed with asthma & emphysema over 9 years ago. Recently, I feel as if I struggle to breathe, even when I ve just moved to the restroom and back to bed at night. This also occurs during the daytime as well, if I m singing at Church I feel out of breathe while singing several songs. My ins. has me being monitored by my general physician, should I request to go to my pulmonary doctor whom I haven t seen in approx. 5+ years. I do not exercise regularly as I should, but I m concerned to do so.

I have been diagnosed with asmathe and emphysema. I have been experiencing coughing, running nose, and difficulty breathing in the past 3-4 weeks. Yes, I m still smoking. I have been taking my medication rescue breathing inhaler. What cause you suggest so those symptoms can go away?
