Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my daughter at 27weeks prematurely due to a stroke she had. 2/3s of her brain dissolved throughout her body. She was then immediately diagnosed with encephalomalacia after tests were ran. she can only say her g sounds and make some noises with her mouth and such. she can't sit on her own she can't walk but she does have excellent hip and leg rhythms to potentially walk. after a swallow study was performed she can't eat nothing as both of her airways stay open(doesn't realize she has good or drink until chokes or gags) this is just a little information. my question is with there being no actual treatments with this diagnosis what can I expect future wise she doesn't have seizures but is seizure prone. we work with her daily and she's generally a very happy child. she has learned how to shake toys and has finally grab them on her own. she turns two in October. and I'm very proud of her. I'm just curious what to kinda expect and with lifespan. this question bothers me every single day.
