General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your query. Both tobaco smoking & Meth using have bad effects on mother ( High blood pressure, toxemia of pregnancy, placental tearing causing severe bleeding) & child- low birth weight, intrauterine growth retardation, premature birth, sudden fetal death.& life long psychological/ intellectual /behavioral problems, possibility of diabetes You were lucky to escape all these in your 1st delivery... hope, it favors you this time too... still, it's always wise to be aware of the side effects & try to minimize them. Visit your treating gynecologist, be frank to disclose the fact& help your luck to minimize the hazards. Follow doctor's advise strictly. Thanks.
