What Causes Persistent Itching On The Breasts?

I had grade 1 br.cancer and lumpectomy 22 months ago .Annual mammogram and ultrasound clear ten months ago, but had an MRI on my breasts a week ago which is clear. There s no rash or anything to see but the itch and weird feelings persist. What could be the cause? I m 64 and we ll past menopause. Beryl

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Perhaps the itching and weird feeling is due to dryness/Xerosis of the skin. I suggest you to use a moisturizer, regularly, 2-3 times a day. In addition, you can take an oral antihistamine, e.g., Cetirizine tablet once every evening for a few days for symptomatic relief from itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Kakkar S.
