Could A Faint Positive Pregnancy Result Be Due To A Previous Abortion While Still Being Sexually Active?

I had a surgical abortion on the 21 of sep. a few days before (19) had unprotected sex while still pregnant. The 21 I got on the Depo shot and have been bleeding since, however I have been peeing frequently. I don’t want another pregnancy scare again after what I went through, so I need an honest opinion. Took a urine test today and came back faint positive. Although, I could still be experiencing the earlier pregnancy I had.

Hi,

You had sex during pregnancy 2 days before surgical abortion. This sex can not cause pregnancy because there is no chance of ovulation that time. Immediately after abortion you were given Depo shot. The weak positive test could be due to traces of blood mixed with urine.

Now the bleeding you have could be due to clearing of previous pregnancy or may be side effect of the Depo shot. You should get USG scanning done to differentiate. Please consult your gynecologist.
