Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a pap smear in Feb 2015 and it came back that I had low grade squamous lesions (LSIL).. being that I' was 22, they said to wait a year and come back. I moved overseas and got tested again in June 2016.. again it came back the same... LSIL. As the doctors didn't have my medical history they said to wait a year as well. I decided to come home to see my first doctor and get a pap smear again 4 days ago. I know the results will be the same and they said I will be sent off to a specialist if they are. Now my question, I've had this result a few times now but with my last smear it has caused really bad bleeding. I'm not due for my period for another 10 or so days. The smear was done on Thursday and on Friday I was in intense pain and then started spotting. Since then it's been a lot heavier but doesn't seem like a normal period to me. It starts and stops every few hours. Is this something to do with the results I have previously had ? Should I go back to my doctor or should I just assume it's an early period ? Thanks.
