Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a circumcision 3 weeks ago due to balanitis xerotica obliterans and phimosis. I have never been able to retract my foreskin even marginally.
Before the op, I spoke to the surgeon who told me that they remove all foreskin to avoid future issues.
I had the op, had my bandage looked at by a student and got sent home. Once I got home I had a look and was surprised to see that I had a foreskin, and still couldn't see the gland of my penis. I put this down to the severe swelling I was suffering and the stitches and left it.
Now 3 weeks have passed, the swelling has gone down and the stitches are mostly out but I still can't fully expose my glans in either a flaccid or erect state. When flaccid I look uncircumcised and when erect I would say a quarter of the glans is exposed.
Because I used to have a lot of excess skin erections were always full and comfortable but now the tightness is restricting my erections meaning I can't get fully erect and it hurts a lot.
I appreciate I'm still in the recovery stage but I'm alarmed by the fact I still can't retract my foreskin and I'm worried that the operation has been messed up and I'm going to have to do it again. There doesn't appear to be anything similar in various internet blogs and I don't know what to do.
The whole thing is really getting me down.
