Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am trying to find a doctor for my husband. In brief, he has been through 3 rounds of primary care and specialists, multiple tests with no answer for the chest pain he has had for 5 years. First and foremost, let me say he has been assured that it is NOT his heart. It is in the left upper chest in line above his nipple. The pain originally would come on after some exertion. Usually a small amount of exertion. Started on our evening walks when the pain would make him have to stop. Again, after 5 years and many specialists we have always been told it is musculoskeletal but no one has been able to give him any relief except for brief periods when he has some sort of "trigger point" injection and is numb for a while. The pain has gotten progressively worse over these 5 years. Now he wakes in the night and has to get out of bed to relieve the pain. He is unable to walk to the mail box and "warm the car" without the pain coming on. It will originate in the left upper chest and through his elbow into his hand and wrist if he does not stop and try to relax. He is 67 years old and is not ready to "get in the rocking chair" and die. Please can you help??
