I Am Concerned For My Husband. He Had Sudden Onset
I am concerned for my husband. He had sudden onset of sever abdo pain whilst working in the garden on Wednesday evening. He was seen by a paramedic who issued a drug to repair damage to the stomach lining. This drug made no difference to the pain but he did start to feel better by lying down in bed. He connued to feel sick and have a griping stomach on Thursday but managed to eat a chicken dinner in the evening and a better nights sleep. Today he got out of bed and started to move around. He still felt nauseous and had a heavy feeling in his abdomen but eventually felt like eating so we had a late breakfast. After just a few spoonfuls of musli he was in agony and back to the state of Wednesday. I took him to the gp who ordered an ambulance to take him to hospital, query peritonitis. The hospital took chest/abdo x ray and blood tests. All clear. Although my husband needed morphine to ease the pain and that only took the edge off they sent him home with an outpatient follow up plan in 8 or so weeks. He is still in a great deal of pain, has no idea how he can go to work on Monday. I am really worried about him. I have never seen him like this. He does not know what to do with himself the only time he is mildly comfortable is lieing down but even then he is still in pain. He has been advised not to take NSAIDS but paracetamol does not help. What could be wrong. He does not want to go back to the docs as he feels a fraud but I am concerned something has been missed and he is at risk.
