How's Safe Is Oral Sex Post Tonsillectomy?

Its been 18 days since i had a tonsilectomy. My throat looks and feels healed. (just feel bruised now rather then like an open wound) i was wondering how long before i can perform oral sex on my girlfriend? Also how long should i wait til i can smoke again?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may wait two weeks after scab slough off. But your doctor advice is important than simply answering without examination. Avoid smoking as it may delay healing capacity.

Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
