General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Montelukast usually prescribed in allergic condition like asthma when severe form. If regular maintenance therapy needed in asthma, then inhaler containing formoterol and low does steroid can be prescribed. Mention your clinical history for giving more comment. Stop this medication with doctor advice, and your taste might return. Consult physician or pulmonologoist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
